Children's Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 30, 2026
This Children’s Privacy Policy describes how Clearspace (“Clearspace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information from children under 13 through the Clearspace applications and services (the “Services”), and the choices and rights parents and legal guardians have over that information. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle information from adults.
Clearspace is a parental screen-time service. We collect information from a child’s device only after a parent or legal guardian sets up the child’s profile and gives verifiable consent. We do not permit children to create accounts on their own.
1. Information We Collect From Children
With a parent’s consent, we collect:
- Information the parent provides. The child’s first name, birthday, and profile details the parent chooses to add.
- Activity information collected from the child’s device. The apps and websites used on the child’s device, when they were used, and whether the activity was limited or blocked by the rules the parent set.
- Device information. Device type, operating system version, app version, and time zone.
We do not collect the child’s precise location, photos, screenshots, contacts, or the content of their messages, calls, or emails.
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to use the Services.
2. How We Use Children’s Information
We use this information only to:
- Show parents their child’s device activity;
- Apply and enforce the screen-time rules the parent sets;
- Provide customer support to the family; and
- Maintain the security and reliability of the Services.
We do not use children’s information for marketing or advertising, and we do not show third-party advertising to children.
3. How We Share Children’s Information
We never sell children’s personal information and never make it publicly available. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the Services:
- Cloud hosting providers, which store the information;
- AI infrastructure providers, which help power activity understanding and rule enforcement; and
- Analytics providers, which help us understand how the Services perform.
These providers may use the information only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.
4. Data Retention
We retain a child’s personal information only while the child’s profile is active. When a parent deletes the child’s profile or the family account, or revokes consent, we delete or anonymize the child’s personal information within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law. We do not retain children’s personal information indefinitely.
5. Parental Consent
We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child. Consent is collected in the Clearspace app when the parent sets up their child’s device, after we describe the information we collect and how we use it. A parent may decline consent, in which case we do not collect information from the child’s device.
6. Your Rights as a Parent
At any time, a parent or legal guardian may:
- Review the personal information we have collected from their child, which is available in the Clearspace app;
- Revoke consent and stop further collection from the child’s device; and
- Delete the child’s personal information by deleting the child’s profile in the app.
You can exercise any of these rights in the app’s settings or by emailing us at support@clearspace.org. To protect your child, we may take steps to verify that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian before acting on a request.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Children’s Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share children’s personal information, we will notify parents and obtain new consent where required before the changes apply.
